MES Dress Code

Manatee Elementary has a mandatory uniform policy. Clothing should be clean, in good condition and not too baggy or large. Parents are responsible for purchasing and maintaining their child’s uniform clothing items. Teachers will conduct a visual scan of their students at the beginning of each school day to ensure compliance with our school uniform policy. Parents will be notified if their child’s clothing does not meet the following guidelines:

SHIRTS

  • Polo shirts with collars and sleeves in any solid color.
  • School spirit t-shirts may be worn on Fridays only.

PANTS, SHORTS, OR SKIRTS

  • All uniform bottoms must be Navy, Khaki (tan) or black in color.
  • Skirts, skorts, or shorts should not be excessively short (fingertip
length when arms are extended down at sides).
  • Jeans are not permitted with the exception of PTO student jeans
    fundraiser days ($1).

SHOES

  • Sneakers or tennis shoes with laces or Velcro must be worn at all
    times. Laces must be tied.
  • No flip flops, slip-on shoes, platform shoes, open back or open toe
    sandals, or boots.

SWEATERS / SWEATSHIRTS

  • Navy, white, gray sweaters or sweatshirts (or Manatee logo spirit
sweatshirts purchased from PTO) may be worn in cold weather.
  • Students are not permitted to wear sweatshirts outside (for recess
or PE) when temperature is 80 degrees or higher.
  • Please write your child’s name on the inside/tags of their jackets or
